DANIE LE ROUX MUSEUM

The Danie le Roux Museum is one of several small private museums across South Africa and houses the personal art and memorabilia collection of Danie le Roux.

The Le Roux family has been farming just outside Bonnievale since 1929, and their current 4th generation farm is now known as Angora Stud Guest Farm & Classic Car Collection.

Danie began curating a private museum on the family farm, and as his collection grew, he acquired a charming thatched-roof building in the heart of Bonnievale to share this treasure with the public.

Highlights of the Museum:

  • Artworks and sketches by Opa Franz Rosemann
  • A large book collection from author Breyten Breytenbach, donated by publisher Koos Human
  • A semi-precious stone collection from Uncle Horst Windisch
  • A unique doll collection, fossils, and artifacts made in St Helena Concentration Camp
  • Original plans and record books of the Mary Myrtle Rigg Memorial Church, the only church ever built on the request of a child
  • A Voortrekker collection and decades of memorabilia from the race-horse industry

This museum reflects the Le Roux family’s passion for preserving heritage, with a deep commitment to leaving something of value for future generations.
