The Boathouse is stocked with kayaks, oars and life jackets free to use. As a fully operational dairy farm, you’ll have the unique opportunity to witness the daily rhythms of farm life, from the gentle hum of milking cows to the delightful frolics of newborn calves.
1. Farm cottage
Escape to our peaceful Farm Cottage, where you can relax in a wood-fired hot tub overlooking the farm dam and breathtaking mountain views.
The cottage features 3 comfortable bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, including a centrally located bathroom with a freestanding bath and shower, plus an en-suite for added privacy. With plush bedding, modern amenities, and charming farmhouse décor, the cottage comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests.The fenced property is ideal for toddlers to play safely, and pets are welcome by prior arrangement at an additional cleaning fee of R350. Discounted rates are available for stays of 7 days or longer.
2. River cottage
Nestled along the peaceful banks of the Breede River and within walking distance of our campsites, the River Cottage offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort.
The cottage features 2 comfortable bedrooms and a wood-fired hot tub on the deck, where guests can unwind while overlooking the river. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway or a peaceful family retreat, the River Cottage promises a relaxing and memorable stay.

4. Weide cottage
A Secluded Retreat for Friends and Family. Escape to Weide Cottage, our most private self-catering accommodation, perfect for friends or family seeking a peaceful getaway. Tucked away for extra seclusion, this charming cottage features a cozy wood-fired hot tub and both indoor and outdoor braai areas with stunning views over the Melkhout pastures.
Inside, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove and dishwasher, two comfortable bedrooms, and one bathroom, providing everything you need for a relaxing stay.
For larger families exceeding four people, Weide Cottage offers a sleeper couch in the living room. Please add a note to your booking if additional bedding is required, and we’ll ensure it’s ready for your arrival. As a special perk, guests are invited to make use of our Boathouse and kayaks for a fun-filled day on the water.
